Hi, I’m Susannah!

I grew up surrounded by redwood trees in Northern California, spent a couple years working towards a degree in photojournalism from Ohio University’s School of Visual Communication, and am now living in Austin, Texas with my sweet pups, Tupelo and Frida, and crazy kitty, Basil.

Photography is my greatest passion in life. So far, it has placed me on the streets of San Francisco documenting the lives of the homeless, in Kenya tracking the great wildebeest migration, and in Scotland racing behind a pack of huskies while documenting the lives of professional mushers. Through these experiences, I have developed a total love for the power and beauty of visual storytelling. My camera has allowed me to delve deep into people’s lives, my own life, and the world around me- I am so grateful!

I have had the pleasure of collaborating with a lot of incredible people at pretty cool places, some of which include the New York Times, AARP, Outside Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, NPR, USA Today, The Guardian, United Healthcare, The Wall Street Journal, American Express and Bark! Magazine.

I am currently based in Austin, Texas and am available for freelance assignments and weddings in any location you’re willing to send me.

I am 2 hours from Houston.
I am 3 hours from Dallas.
I am 4 hours from the US-Mexico border.
